Southwest
Short description to come.
Southwest at a glance
Dayton is where the Wright brothers learned to fly, and it’s still a hub for aerospace, research and advanced manufacturing. Neighborhoods are close-knit, and the Great Miami River runs right through downtown.

Get to know Southwest.
We’ve been building and brewing our own way since we started. And we’re not done. A region fueled by dreamers, doers, innovators and makers, Cincinnati glitters with a view and vibe unmistakably its own.
Sports
Reds and Bengals. Cyclones and Saints. Rollergirls and Sizzles. Cincy lives and breathes sports and more sports. Cincinnati is the birthplace of professional baseball, with the Opening Day Findlay Market Parade touting civic holiday status. Come on home to the Big Red Machine, an electric new Major League Soccer team, a fierce NFL team (Who dey…?!), and four NCAA basketball teams—NKU, UC, Xavier and Miami. You can spend a day at the races, watch world-class tennis, or sign up for a recreational team in Cincinnati, too.
Music, Arts & Culture
Cincinnati is home to a wealth of well- preserved architecture, award-winning public art, a thriving local music scene, and a breathtaking Music Hall—where a recent $135 million restoration project reflects the region’s commitment to preserving our unique cultural heritage. We are one of 13 cities in the country to have its own ballet, opera, fine art, symphony, and theater companies. Generations of Cincy leaders worked hard to infuse arts and culture in everything we do, from strategic planning and historic preservation to attracting national performances and symposia.
Food & Drink
The Cincinnati region’s dining scene is known far and wide as epic. Every neighborhood sports its own roster of locally-owned restaurants, markets, bakeries, and coffee shops—not to mention all the beer and bourbon you can handle. We’re home to more than 60 breweries, the country’s only underground beer tunnel system, and the gateway to the Bourbon Trail, starting out on the B-Line. Stop by local favorite Cheapside Café, splurge at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, or live life to the fullest with comfort food at Taft’s Ale house. Savor a Rhinegeist beer or snag a shot of New Riff bourbon. Fill up at Skyline Chili or grab a cone at Graeter’s ice cream. You’ll find it all here in Cincy. Skip the calorie counting. You’re home.
Entertainment
Fun is in our DNA. From record-holding roller coasters to some of the most culturally significant museums, Cincinnati’s entertainment scene is full of adventures and experiences you can’t find anywhere else. Spend the day tucked away in Cincinnati’s East Side at the Cincinnati Observatory. Brave The Beast roller coaster at King’s Island or make a Splash at the waterpark at Coney Island. Come see our world-famous Fiona the Hippo at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden or explore deeper waters at the Newport Aquarium. Museums, music, ballet and contemporary art await you.
Tours
From underground tunnels to a living art museum, Cincinnati is a city with no shortage of history, architecture, public art and worldly cuisine. We also boast an unmatched beer and bourbon scene. Take the Queen City Underground Tour and learn all about Cincinnati’s hidden history. Discover the official Brewing Heritage Trail marked by embedded markers all around Cincinnati’s downtown. Sip bourbon on the B-line, a collection of distilleries, bourbon bars, and bourbon-centric restaurants. Taste and try everything at the Findlay Market Food Tour or The Butler County Donut Trail—whatever suits your taste.
Diversity & Inclusion
You belong here. We are a region committed to achieving diversity, inclusion, and equity. Cincinnati is one of the most immigrant-friendly cities in the country, and home to the nation’s first data-informed, gender-equity certification programs. Here you’ll find museums and festivals that celebrate culture and change, as well as the top minority business accelerator in the country. From our startup scene to our arts and culture, Cincinnati is a place for everyone.
Startups & Entrepreneurs
We have the resources you need to get started. Cincinnati is #1 in Ohio for startup activity, and we also boast more Fortune 500 companies per capita than anywhere in the country. Intentional collaboration between big companies and new business beginnings has proven to be beneficial: startups get transformative guidance and connections from major national businesses, and Big Biz companies get a pipeline of fresh, innovative ideas. Win- win.
Rivers, Parks & Trails
Get away in the great outdoors in a metro that never compromises its roots. The Cincinnati region offers you five majestic rivers covering nearly 6,000 stream miles, an impressive 23,000 miles of long-distance trails, 250 miles of hiking trails, 80 miles of on-road bike lanes, and 60 miles of mountain bike trails. The city is also home to the Little Miami Scenic Trail—the third-longest paved trail in the nation.
Neighborhoods
The Cincinnati region is home to 70+ unique neighborhoods, each with its own vibe and personality. Between Downtown, Over the Rhine, East Side, West Side, Uptown, or Central, you’ll find the right neighborhood for your family. Don’t overlook Northern Kentucky’s epic views and southeast Indiana’s smaller-town feel—Cincinnati proudly claims them as part our Tri-State trifecta of nearby neighborhoods. Urban, suburban, and rural options abound in life-altering possibilities for you and your family.
